Japanese Chipmaker Rapidus to Begin Mass Production of 2nm Processors in 2027
Japanese semiconductor company Rapidus is targeting the second half of fiscal year 2027 to commence mass production of chips utilizing a 2-nanometer (nm) manufacturing process. The company aims to begin full-scale output during fiscal year 2028, underscoring Japan’s renewed ambitions in advanced chipmaking technology.

According to reports referencing Kyoto News and DigiTimes, Rapidus is on track to achieve commercial-scale production of 2nm chips by 2027.
