AMD Expands FSR 4.1 Upscaling Support to Radeon RX 7000 GPUs
AMD has officially rolled out its FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 4.1 technology for the Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards. This move brings the advanced upscaling capabilities to GPUs based on the RDNA 3 architecture, marking a significant expansion from its previous availability which was limited to the Radeon RX 9000 series built on RDNA 4.
Broadening Upscaling Technology Across GPU Generations
FSR 4.1, AMD’s latest iteration of its AI-powered upscaling technology, enhances gaming visuals by allowing higher frame rates at increased resolutions without a heavy performance penalty. Until now, support for this version of FSR was exclusive to AMD’s newest RDNA 4 architecture, featured in the RX 9000 series GPUs.
The new support for the RDNA 3-based Radeon RX 7000 lineup not only extends FSR 4.1 capabilities to a wider range of graphics cards but also hints at AMD’s commitment to improving gaming experiences across multiple hardware generations.
Additionally, AMD has confirmed plans to introduce FSR 4.1 support to integrated graphics solutions leveraging RDNA 3 and the upcoming RDNA 3.5 architectures. This forthcoming expansion will enable more systems, particularly those without dedicated GPUs, to benefit from enhanced upscaling and improved visual fidelity in supported games.
The integration of FSR 4.1 across both discrete and integrated GPUs underscores AMD’s strategy to deliver scalable and accessible performance enhancements to a broad user base.
Further details regarding the timeline for integrated graphics support or additional features tied to the FSR 4.1 launch have not been disclosed.
AMD officially launches FSR 4.1 upscaling for Radeon RX 7000 GPUs and announces upcoming support for RDNA 3 and 3.5 integrated graphics.
