Corporate SSD Revenue Surges Over 50% Amid AI Inference Boom
The market for corporate solid-state drives (SSDs) experienced a remarkable surge in revenue during the final quarter of 2025, fueled by growing demand for AI inference infrastructure. A recent analysis by market research firm TrendForce highlights how the widespread deployment of AI model inference systems significantly intensified storage requirements across enterprise data centers.
Demand Spike Driven by AI and Server Modernization
Enterprises accelerated their efforts to upgrade general-purpose servers in response to the expanding use of artificial intelligence applications, which rely heavily on fast and reliable storage solutions. Additionally, a shortage of traditional hard disk drives (HDDs) prompted many organizations to pivot towards SSDs, valued for their superior speed and endurance under heavy workloads.
This shift contributed to a substantial increase in revenue for the sector, with the combined revenue of the world’s five leading corporate SSD manufacturers soaring by 51.7% quarter-over-quarter to reach approximately $9.9 billion.
The rapid expansion of AI workloads has underscored the critical role of storage systems capable of supporting large-scale data processing and low-latency access. SSDs, known for their performance advantages over HDDs, have therefore become an essential component in building infrastructure tailored for AI inference workloads.
As enterprises continue to adopt AI technologies and modernize their data centers, the corporate SSD market is expected to maintain its momentum. The TrendForce report underscores the ongoing transformation within storage architectures, driven by AI’s intensive compute and data access needs.
Revenue for the top five corporate SSD vendors jumped more than 50% in a single quarter, driven by expanding AI inference infrastructure.
