Researchers Develop Aquatic Spider-Inspired Drone for Water Rescue Missions
In a collaborative effort between institutions in China and the United States, researchers have unveiled a novel autonomous rescue device capable of operating on water surfaces. Researchers from the Shenzhen Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics for Society (AIRS), the Chinese University of Hong Kong in Shenzhen (CUHK), and the Stevens Institute of Technology in the United States collaborated on the engineering and design of this innovative unmanned rescue vessel.
This biomimetic approach allows the QuadBoat to traverse aquatic environments with agility, making it a promising tool for rapid intervention in water emergencies.
