Imports of Consumer Electronics to Russia Rise as Shoppers Opt for Cheaper Options
Data from CDEK.Shopping reveals a notable increase in the import of consumer electronics into Russia during the first half of 2026. Compared to the same period last year, foreign electronics sales in Russia rose by 6%, signaling a reversal from the previous year’s decline.
In addition to the growth in sales volume, the number of individual orders for imported electronics surged by 28%. This uptick contrasts sharply with the 4% decrease in orders observed during the corresponding timeframe of the prior year.
Shift Toward More Affordable Electronics
Analysis shows a decrease in average spending per transaction, which dropped by 17% to approximately 45,900 rubles. This change suggests that consumers are increasingly purchasing more budget-friendly electronic products amid the expanding availability of imported goods.
The trend toward selecting lower-cost alternatives may reflect evolving consumer priorities or broader economic factors influencing purchasing behavior in Russia. Despite a rising number of orders and higher total sales, the reduction in average order value highlights a market adjustment toward affordability.
The data indicates a growing appetite among Russian buyers for international electronic products, even as they remain sensitive to price. The dynamics observed in the first half of 2026 illustrate a recovering market with shifting consumer preferences for cost-conscious selections.
Further industry analysis will be necessary to understand the long-term implications of these changes on the Russian electronics import sector and the broader retail landscape.
In early 2026, Russian imports of foreign electronics grew, with consumers increasingly choosing more affordable products amid a 6% sales rise.
