Valve Confirms Over 25,000 Steam Games Compatible with Steam Deck

Valve has confirmed that more than 25,000 games in its Steam catalog are compatible with the Steam Deck, its handheld gaming device. This milestone represents over 20% of the entire Steam library, highlighting the growing versatility of the portable platform.

According to recent data from SteamDB, a widely recognized database for Steam statistics, exactly 25,055 games have been cataloged for compatibility with the Steam Deck. Out of these, 7,528 titles reportedly run flawlessly on the device without any issues. An additional 17,527 games are categorized as “playable,” meaning they operate with only minor complications that do not significantly impact the experience.

The classification system Valve uses to define compatibility helps users understand how well games perform on the Steam Deck. “Verified” games offer an optimized and seamless experience, while “playable” games may require some adjustments but remain fully accessible. This update reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to improve both software and driver support to expand the library of easily accessible titles on the handheld.

Growing Ecosystem for Portable Gaming

The Steam Deck has positioned itself as a major player in the portable gaming market, competing with other handheld consoles and cloud gaming services. Valve’s focus on compatibility sets the device apart by allowing users to access a vast collection of PC games in a mobile form factor. The expansion of verified and playable titles addresses a key barrier for gamers seeking flexibility without sacrificing their existing game libraries.

Looking ahead, users and industry watchers will be paying close attention to how Valve continues to enhance game compatibility and software updates to further enrich the Steam Deck’s ecosystem. The company has not shared specific timelines for future compatibility milestones but ongoing improvements are expected as the device gains traction.

More than 25,000 Steam titles, over 20% of the library, are confirmed compatible with Valve’s Steam Deck handheld console.
