Microsoft Unveils Majorana 2 Quantum Processor Featuring AI-Driven Design for Enhanced Stability
At the Build conference in San Francisco, Microsoft revealed its latest breakthrough in quantum computing technology with the introduction of Majorana 2, a next-generation quantum processor. This advancement marks a significant step towards improving the stability and reliability of quantum computations.
AI and Advanced Materials Drive Quantum Leap
The development of Majorana 2 incorporated the use of an artificial intelligence agent named Discovery, which played a crucial role in designing and optimizing the chip. By leveraging AI in the development process, Microsoft aims to address some of the persistent challenges in quantum computing, particularly around error rates and coherence times.
