Soyuz MS-28 Capsule Returns Crew from ISS to Kazakhstan
The Soyuz MS-28 spacecraft successfully completed its mission by bringing the crew of the 74th long-duration expedition back to Earth. The capsule touched down near the city of Jezkazgan in Kazakhstan, marking the end of their stay aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
The landing site, located in the vast Kazakh steppe, is a traditional and strategic location for returning Soyuz missions. State space corporation Roscosmos confirmed the safe landing of the crew through its official Telegram channel.
Completion of the 74th ISS Expedition
The Soyuz MS-28 descent module delivered two Russian cosmonauts and one American astronaut from the ISS to the ground. This returning team had been aboard the orbital station as part of the ongoing international partnership to operate and conduct scientific research in low Earth orbit.
The spacecraft’s journey back to Earth is a critical phase in crewed spaceflight operations, ensuring that the astronauts return safely after months of scientific work and station maintenance. Soyuz spacecraft have been a reliable vehicle for human transportation to and from the ISS since the station’s early years.
