WisdPi Unveils PROM21 Expansion Card Adding AMD B650 Chipset Features to Any PC
WisdPi has introduced a new expansion card, the PROM21 All In Expansion Card, designed to bring AMD B650 chipset capabilities to virtually any desktop computer. Priced at $199, the card offers a versatile upgrade option for users seeking to enhance their system’s connectivity and storage potential without replacing the motherboard.
PROM21 Expansion Card Features and Connectivity
The PROM21 card incorporates four M.2 interfaces for solid-state drives, enabling significant storage expansion or the addition of NVMe devices. It also provides a robust USB complement, including five USB ports capable of transfer speeds up to 10 Gbps and an additional six USB 2.0 ports for broader peripheral support. This combination delivers 11 USB ports in total, covering both high-speed and standard connectivity needs.
Beyond USB and M.2, the expansion card is equipped with an OCuLink port. This versatile connection can be employed for external PCI Express 4.0 devices or, alternatively, used with a splitter to connect up to four SATA drives. This feature adds considerable flexibility, making the PROM21 a valuable option for users looking to integrate external storage solutions or specialized PCIe hardware with their existing setup.
The card essentially transforms the capabilities of the AMD B650 chipset into an add-on format that can be installed in PCs without native B650 support. This approach helps expand the accessibility of modern chipset features such as multiple high-speed M.2 slots and wide USB connectivity to a broader range of desktop configurations.
While detailed specifications beyond the interface offerings and retail price have not been disclosed, the PROM21 All In Expansion Card represents a novel solution for PC builders and upgraders aiming to modernize legacy systems or increase storage and peripheral options efficiently.
With the growing demand for expanded SSD storage and increased USB connectivity in desktop environments, WisdPi’s PROM21 card addresses a niche for users reluctant or unable to overhaul their entire motherboard but still keen on adopting current-generation interfaces and technologies.
WisdPi launches PROM21 expansion card offering four M.2 slots, 11 USB ports, and OCuLink connectivity for enhanced PC storage and peripherals.
