Sapphire Launches Wireless-Powered Nitro+ Radeon RX 9070 XT PhantomLink GPUs Globally
Sapphire has introduced its Nitro+ Radeon RX 9070 XT PhantomLink graphics cards to the global market, marking a significant expansion from their initial release in China. These GPUs feature a notable innovation: a wireless power delivery system that eliminates the need for traditional power cables.
Introducing Wireless Power for High-Performance GPUs
The Nitro+ Radeon RX 9070 XT PhantomLink series stands out by implementing a cable-free power solution. Traditionally, high-performance graphics cards require multiple power connectors to deliver adequate power levels. Sapphire’s new design reimagines this process, utilizing a wireless approach to feed power to the GPU, improving cable management and potentially enhancing system aesthetics.
Two variants of the PhantomLink series are available. The standard Nitro+ Radeon RX 9070 XT PhantomLink Edition is priced at $989, while the Polar Edition, which features a white color scheme, carries a slightly higher price tag of $999. Both models cater to enthusiasts seeking powerful hardware combined with innovative design elements.
Prior to this global release, Sapphire’s PhantomLink GPUs were exclusively sold within China. Their expansion into worldwide markets demonstrates Sapphire’s recognition of demand among international customers, making this technology accessible beyond its initial regional launch.
Details on technical specifications beyond the wireless power feature, performance benchmarks, and global availability timelines have not been disclosed. However, the adoption of wireless power delivery in high-end graphics cards could mark a new trend in GPU power design, leading to cleaner builds and potentially new design standards within the PC hardware ecosystem.
As wireless power technology matures, it may influence how future GPUs are developed, possibly reducing cable clutter and simplifying installation for PC builders. Sapphire’s Nitro+ Radeon RX 9070 XT PhantomLink series represents an early step in integrating this technology into mainstream gaming and professional graphics hardware.
Sapphire expands availability of its wireless-powered Nitro+ Radeon RX 9070 XT PhantomLink series beyond China to global markets.
